What is the Stoneman Taurista? A fantastic mountainbike trail in the Austrian Alps and a challenging route for experienced mountain bikers that leads you through the Salzburgerland.
In summer 2024, the Stoneman Taurista Adventure is going from June 6 to September 29.

Make your individual planning for your Stoneman MTB-experience
The route is designed as a circuit with 3 evenly spaced stages. You set your own goal for the day and can ride the route as you wish, to fit in with your skill and fitness level. A Gold Tour in just 1 day, a Silver Tour in 2 days or as a Bronze Tour in 3 days. The Hotel Stegerbräu, right in the centre of Radstadt, offers packages suitable to your planned tour.
The route must always be cycled clockwise, depending on the starting point. In the Bronze, Silver or Gold tabs, you will find suggestions for the tage divisions from Radstadt, as the central starting point for the Stoneman Taurista route.
The Gold Tour – the circuit in only 1 day: 147 KM 4.700 HM
In order to complete the challenging trail in just one day, you have to start very early, preferably right after sunrise. In the 147 km you can overcome 4.700 vertical meters with the following checkpoints:
* Sattelbauer * Penkkopf * Rossbrand * Mandlberg * Forstau * Oberhütte * Johanneswasserfall
….only for absolutely trained mountain bikers!
Possible stages for the Silver-Tour:
1. stage: checkpoints ROSSBRAND / MANDLBERGGUT / FORSTAU / OBERHÜTTE / JOHANNESWASSERFALL
(82 km + 2550 HM)
2. stage: checkpoints: SATTELBAUER / PENKKOPF (65 km + 2150 HM)
Possible stages for the Bronze Tour:
1. stage: checkpoint PENKKOPF (54 km + 1600 HM)
2. stage: checkpoints SATTELBAUER / ROSSBRAND / MANDLBERGGUT (33 km + 1450 HM)
3. stage: checkpoints: FORSTAU / OBERHÜTTE / JOHANNESWATERFALL (60 km + 1750 HM)
The Stoneman Trail
NEW: for the 2024 season: high above Wagrain-Kleinarl, a brand new checkpoint awaits all mountain bike adventurers with the summit of the Penkkopf. The Hochgründeck is not on the programme this summer, but there are new scenic highlights, new refreshment destinations and more trail sections with the Penkkopf Shared Trail and the Hirchleit Trail.
Every section of the trail has its highlights, the forest trail over the Sattelbauer with an overview of two valleys, the new destinations Kurzeggalm and Kleinarler Hütte – idyllic spots with great views, situated high above Kleinarl with the Penkkopf summit experience, the well known Edelweiss-Alm, the Rossbrand plateau with its moorland floors and 360-degree panoramic views of over 150 peaks, the rugged mountain world of the Hohe Tauern, the idyllic Oberhüttensee lake or the imposing Johannes waterfall. On the Mandlberg, delicacies and home-distilled spirits invite you to linger.It’s all there, from rustic alpine pastures and huts, crystal-clear mountain lakes, lush meadows and dense forests.
Stoneman Starter Pack & Trophy
If you wish to be featured in the official finisher list online, you will at least need one of the offered starter packs. With the “Trophy” you will additionally receive the “medal-stone”, depending on your chosen challenge -in gold, silver or bronze and the striking wooden pedestal with the iron, laser-cut Stoneman figurine, which can be extended later with further stones. Those who already have earned a trophy, can upgrade the starter pack with just the stone.

- For CARD and CLASSIC the stone and the trophy (stone and base) will be ordered during registration, for NOW after the finish online.
TEAM TICKET – 15 years of Stoneman – this will be celebrated in 2024 and riding in a team from 2 persons pays off!
- means for starter packages: one person pays the normal rate and € 9 team discount for each additional team member
- important is, that one person first registers as a regular “team-rider”, sends the invitation link received to the other team members and then everyone registers with this link to the reduced rate

Group tickets
Benefit from the the offer as a team or as a duo. It is important to choose the right approach when registering.
The team or group ticket
One person in the group first logs in to the dashboard as normal and important: please enter the team name in the dashboard form under “I will ride in a team”. After submitting the completed form, you will receive an e-mail with an invitation link for other group members.
Using this link, each member will register separately in the dashboard, select their personal package and receive the € 9 discount.
Further advantage: the team name is then automatically stored in the form for the team members (this is practically, because the team name must always be written in same spelling).
With the CARD and CLASSIC variants, everyone can select the desired stone or trophy at the same time of registration and will receive their starter pack directly from us at the hotel. The NOW variant, which is to be ordered via the official Stoneman website, will be sent digitally to your mobile phone. Any trophy or just a stone can then be ordered online after the finish. Therefore you will receive a finisher mail from the head office with all the relevant information.
It is best to register for your Classic or Card starter package right after booking – please note the procedure for team tickets.
Good to know: as you have access to your starter form yourself after registration, you can also make changes later – such as for the date or selection of the starter package and your registration can also be cancelled again. But be careful with team tickets: Team extensions are only possible via the sent invitation link of the team leader (first registrant). Cancellation of a team member can be done by the team member himself via his individual access to the starter form. The GPX track will also be sent by e-mail 3 days before the tour. Prompt registration ensures that your starter pack is ready and waiting for you at the hotel on arrival.
The NOW starter pack is ordered online and paid for via PayPal or bank transfer (up to 4 days before the ride). A stone or trophy can only be ordered online after the finish and will then be sent to you by the head office.
