The 14-day right of withdrawal of the Distance Selling Act (according to §18 Abs.1Z.10 FAGG) does not apply to our general conditions. Our cancellations policy will apply with here mentioned scheme and apart of this, the Austrian Hotel Regulations apply to our contracts.  The place of jurisdiction is the authorized court at St Johann im Pongau.

An exception is made for following situations:

  • there is a travel ban, border closure or lock-down as a result of limitations imposed by law or there is a ban on entering the hotel industry, a free cancellation is possible up to 48 hours prior to arrival
  • the cancellation must then be communicated as early as possible, from the time the measures become known.
  • Cancellations within 48 hours will incur a 70% cancellation fee (so we can plan as well) – this of course does not apply should any of the above mentioned situations only come into event within the 48 hour period. Should there be a border closure or upcoming lock-down during your stay, you can of course leave at any time and we will cancel the remaining days free of charge.

Please note:  neither a travel warning nor illness is a free cancellation reason.

What if other unexpected events such as illness or accident occur? To avoid unnecessary cancellation fees and anger, we recommend taking out a travel insurance  for unforeseen cases such as illness, accident or the like. We recommend the European Insurance Company. Read more about this under Travel Insurance.

A booking is a purchase agreement. In the event of cancellation, late arrival or early departure cancellation fees will be incurred. Anything can happen (illness, accident etc…).

A good option for this is the Hotel Cancellation Plus or Premium Insurance from European Travel Insurance. You can use the following link to conveniently calculate your insurance premium, obtain information about the benefits and take out insurance online if required: “European Travel Insurance – direct link”.

Good to know: though still existing pandemic status the European Travel Insurance covers in case of Corona illness.  More detailed information on this courtesy you will find here.

We are happy to provide a travel cot for the infants for free. Please mention the request at time of the booking.

Look forward to beautiful and carefree holidays in Salzburger Land. Currently there are no special entry requirements for Austria, no 3-G certificate necessary and no mask obligation.

All about ski-pass offers

The information given here refers to the winter season 2023/24

Ski pass with validity up to 1 day

Ski passes valid for one day or less are limited to use in the regional ski area and separate day-pass rates apply in the individual ski regions.  In our region, the one-day ski passes (or less) are valid for the Salzburg Sportworld  – with ski-resorts: Radstadt-Altenmarkt,  Zauchensee-Flachauwinkel-Kleinarl and Snow Space Salzburg (Flachau-Wagrain-St.Johann).  You can buy  your day ticket or ticket for 2, 3 or 4 hours (in some other ski-resorts also half-day tickets) in the Ski amadé online ticket shop. After selecting the day and number of persons – you will be asked for what region you wish to buy your ski-ticket.

Multi-day ski pass (from 2 to 18 days)

A multi-day ski pass is valid for the entire winter sport region Ski amadé, so in all 5 ski-regions throughout the provinces of Salzburg and Styria.  A mixed price will be calculated for periods spanning different parts of the season.
Please notice that skiing is currently no longer possible on the Dachstein glacier, which is also part of Ski amadé, due to the glacier melting. Winter sports and thrills are still available on the glacier: cross-country skiing, touring, winter hiking or visiting the Dachstein attractions.

Good to know: you can use multi-day ski passes that have been bought early, from 3pm the day before the stated “Valid from” date (exception: Tauern lift Haus /Ennstal). Ideal for everyone who just wants to carve a few turns on the slopes on the first day of their vacation.

From when is the ski ticket valid for 2.5 days?
The half-day limit for multi-day tickets is 12 o’clock. The half day can be used, for example, on the first day in the afternoon or on the last day in the morning.
Multi-day ski tickets are only valid on consecutive days.

Season tickets

For frequent skiers there is also the All-in White Card – valid throughout Ski amadé or the SuperSkiCard (valid in 21 ski-regions in Salzburg and the neighboring ski areas in Tyrol). You can find all the information on the Ski amadé website.

Buying Ski Passes

NEW since winter 2023 is the – Early Bird Discount on all multi-day passes in the Online-Ticket-Shop.
Ski passes can still be bought for full price directly from the ticket offices of the main ski lifts when you arrive but in order to get the early booking bonus, now also available for passes less than a complete season, please use the online booking system. The earlier you book the ski pass online, the greater the discount. Prices vary depending on the season, time of purchase and demand. There is also the option of booking a cancellation guarantee for multi-day tickets for € 2,50 per ski day per ticket. This allows you to cancel the ski ticket, free of charge up to 2 days before the start of the pass’s validity. No cancellation guarantee can be booked retrospectively – not even from our ticket office. Please note that special bonus tickets (such as seasonal promotions or free ski passes for children in the Easter Family Promotion) are not available in the online shop. All relevant information about ski tickets and the early bird bonus can also be found at the website of Ski amadé.

Information that we have compiled for our guests on this topic can be found in our magazine article “Buy now ski pass online and safe money with the early bird bonus

How do I get the ski pass and how/where is the ski ticket activated?
A ski pass is issued / booked on KeyCards without exception. If you buy your ski pass at the ticket office, you will also receive your KeyCard there. If you buy the ski pass online, there are following possibilities:
a) You already have a KeyCard
(e.g. from the previous season) or have the my Ski amadé Friends Card: the ski pass is loaded directly onto the existing card (by entering the KeyCard number)  – activation takes place directly at the turnstile (so no queuing necessary).
b) You are not in possession of a KeyCard:
the confirmation for the online-ticket comes per E-mail – having a QR code, which you can use to pick up your ski-passes on site at either any lift ticket office or at the ticket machine. If you would like to receive the KeyCard by post, please note the postal delivery time of 5-14 working days.

Keycard

A KeyCard is required for ski passes! You pay a deposit of € 3,00 for this card, which is refunded when you return the card undamaged. Ski passes are not transferable. However, if you do not already have an earlier KeyCard or the my Ski amadé Friends Card, we recommend that you take the KeyCard next time home with you so that you can then have your ski pass topped up directly onto the KeyCard in the online ticket shop in future.
Exception: with the pick-function (collection of the ski pass ordered online), the KeyCard is issued without a deposit and reloading is not possible.

Passes loaded on keycards are normally for use 30 minutes after loading. Activation takes place directly at the turnstile.

Frequently asked questions

To give you an overview, we have summarized the answers to frequently asked questions. But we are always happy to answer your personal questions. Do not hesitate to ask for further information and send us a mail with your concerns, wishes and questions or call us.

Serivce in the Stegerbräu

Our reception is usually open during the day from 7:30am to 11:30am and from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.  Outside of these hours, Family Stiegler or a member of our restaurant staff is always on hand. For very early arrival or departure times as well as for late arrivals, we simply ask you to let us know in advance. Your e-mail messages are regularly retrieved several times a day even in the low-season and when the Hotel is closed and will be answered as quickly as possible.

A regular laundry service or guest washing machine is not offered by the hotel. On request, if there is an urgent need, we will gladly wash your laundry for a small additional charge.

Baby monitors are not available from the hotel so please bring your own. Please inform us if you want to use a baby monitor in the hotel when you book as there are very thick walls in parts of the hotel and so reception is not 100% guaranteed. If possible, we will try to provide a room that is not too far from the restaurant.

For younger guests there is a children’s playroom on the ground floor (access from the à la carte restaurant) for playing and romping and in summer there is a small playground with a trampoline below the guest garden. We offer no child care and no children’s holiday programme. Of course, children’s high chairs are available in the restaurant. Cots are also available on request at time of booking.

All about food and drink

Sometimes something is left behind or has been overlooked. We are happy to send you the forgotten items, but we ask for your understanding in charging you the applicable postage.

Are you a vegetarian, vegan or have an intolerance to some foods? Our kitchen team will be happy to help with your special diet if possible. As for bread or cereals for breakfast, we ask you to bring your own special products yourself. Lactose-free and gluten-free is generally no problem for us and it is enough if you inform our restaurant staff in the hotel.
When it comes to special diets or intolerance, please notify us when making your inquiry or booking, and we will let you know what is within our means.

  • Beakfast: daily from 7 am to 11 am

If you want to have lunch or dinner with us, you have the following options on opening days of the restaurant:

  • a-la-carte meal from 11am to 9pm
  • or, for stays of 2 nights or more, you can choose to book our “My Menu” offer as half board – a 4-course menu at a fixed price, for lunch or dinner as you wish.

The afternoon ski snack in winter (included in the room rate for stays of 2 nights or more) is available from 4 to 5pm in the Bräusaal, when the restaurant is open (drinks are not included).

About opening times or closing dates in our restaurant, we always inform you on the site: table reservation.

The “Breakfast-Plus-Package” with flexible catering options replaces the previously offered all-inclusive light in summer season and the previously offered half-board in winter season. Sometimes it is time to head off in new directions and so there is the NEW “breakfast-plus” arrangement  at the Stegerbräu as a basic package for your stay. Additionally to the breakfast from the buffet, you benefit, from a 2 nights stay  in summer from a packed lunch that you can pack yourself from the breakfast buffet and in winter your plus is an afternoon ski-tea, served from 4 to 5pm. To allow our guests a flexible and customer-friendly daily schedule, we offer then, during opening days of the restaurant,  two options:

  • eat à la carte and enjoy our cuisine throughout the day – if for lunch or dinner (from 11:00 am to 09:00 pm on opening days)
  • or use, when staying at least 2 nights, our “My Menu Offer” as a half-board option with dinner, offering a 4-course menu to a fixed price with advance booking.

Information about Radstadt

Radstadt belongs to the Pongau district of Salzburgerland and is one of the 8 towns that make up Salzburg Sportworld. Radstadt is also very close to the county border with neighbouring Styria. It is not only the ideal starting point to explore Salzburgerland but you can easily roam through the Dachstein-Schladming-Region too. Obertauern is not far away either. In winter, the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area is just outside the town, but many other ski resorts can be easily reached and share the same lift pass. In summer, the range of hiking destinations and tourist attractions is plentiful and diverse.

An overview of how close we are to other areas:
Flachau (12 km) / Bischofshofen (30 km) / the city of Salzburg (70 km)
Schladming (20 km) / Obertauern (21 km)
Read more about this on our website under the heading “Holiday Region”

From Radstadt station there is a 5-minute walk directly to the hotel (400 metres – slightly uphill). We will be happy to pick you up from the train station Radstadt on request. Let us know your exact time of arrival.

The following ski resorts are accessible from Radstadt with the FREE ski bus, from approx. mid December:
• Radstadt-Altenmarkt (bus stop at the town square)
• Fageralm – Reiteralm (bus stop at the post office)

• Flachau – for the Snow Space ski area with Flachau-Wagrain-St.Johann (bus stop at the post office)
• Zauchensee – Flachauwinkel – Kleinarl (bus stop at the post office)
• Obertauern (bus stop at the post office)
The bus stop in the town square is just 80 meters from the hotel. The post office is 500m  from the hotel. Ski bus timetables are available directly from the hotel reception.
Other ski regions, such as the Schladming-Dachstein region, Hochkönig or the Gastein valley, can be reached by car (20 to 60 minutes by car, depending on the ski resort).
The Postbus runs from Radstadt during the day to neighboring Altenmarkt, Flachau, Eben or Filzmoos. There is a daily train connection from Radstadt to Salzburg City.

Guests travelling without a car can reach neighbouring towns such as Altenmarkt, Flachau, Eben, Wagrain or Filzmoos (some with a change) from Radstadt with the Postbus during the day. For a visit to Mozart’s city of Salzburg, there is usually twice a day a direct train connection from Radstadt to Salzburg.

During the hiking season (around mid-June to the end of September), the Salzburg Sportworld bus and the Postbus will take you to the starting points of a variety of hiking trails in Altenmarkt, Zauchensee, Flachau, Flachauwinkel, Wagrain, Eben, Filzmoos as well as the Gnadenalm or Obertauern in mid summer.

The Radstadt hiking bus takes you from mid-June to early October  2x a week (on Monday & Thursday) up to the Rossbrand ridge- the Radstadt local mountain.

And – the nice thing about it: with the Salzburger Sportworld Card – which you get it for free at our reception – you pay only 1 Euro each way for the Radstadt hiking bus and for the Salzburg Sportworld buses. You don’t have to use this bus service just for hiking, you can use it for a visit to the Therme Amadé in Altenmarkt or for shopping and excursion trips.

In addition to hiking and cycling in the summer or skiing in the winter, Radstadt has a wide range on offer:
IN SUMMER
• the Radstadt alpine open air pool (depending on the weather approx. late May to early September)
• Sports ground with miniature golf course, beach volleyball court and tennis courts.
• Golf course with 18-hole championship course, 9-hole compact course and driving range
• Cultural centre with open air summer cinema
• Museum

IN THE WINTER
• Sports ground with ice curling
• 6 km long toboggan run, cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails
• Sleigh rides, snowshoeing and winter horse riding
• skating rink (weather permitting)
• Cultural centre with cinema

ALL YEAR round, game enthusiasts get their money’s worth with the interactive adventure game “The Mystery of the Three Towers”. This modern scavenger hunt in the style of an escape room leads to various stations in the town centre and can be played by teams of 2 to 6 people. Discounts are available with the Radstadt guest card. Read more about the ESCAPE GAME RADSTADT here.

Wellness and special needs

The 3-star Hotel Stegerbräu spa area is daily available and the use is free of charge from 03pm to 08pm.
In summer season we ask for registration in the morning – just to know, if we have to heat the sauna.

• Bath towels are waiting for you in the wellness area. A bathrobe (for adults) is available on request.
• Please bring your own flip-flops/non-slip pool shoes.

Your children may also enjoy our wellness area, but only if accompanied by a parent or an adult and taking into account that the wellness area is a mainly adult “rest area”. When you visit the sauna with your child, please remember that our sauna, the steam bath and the infrared cabin are textile-free zones, no swimwear allowed.

The rooms in the hotel and the breakfast restaurant are neither barrier-free nor wheelchair accessible. The rooms in the main building can be reached by lift, but there are a few stairs to climb to the entrance of the breakfast restaurant. There are also only a very limited number of rooms with wheelchair access to the bathroom. Please be sure to provide us with the necessary information when making your enquiry/booking, so that we can clarify with you in advance whether our hotel is suitable for your special needs.

Our à la carte restaurant is more easily accessible by wheelchair. From the entrance to the restaurant there are 3 steps – but also a ramp. The toilets are also at ground level, reachable without steps and one toilet is equipped disability-friendly.

For feather/down allergy sufferers, we offer special microfibre bedding and pillows on request. Please inform us when booking.
Note: please note that we do not offer special rooms for allergy sufferers. Our rooms are carpeted with only a few exceptions.
