Autumn Holiday in Radstadt - Last Minute - September & October 2026
What makes an autumn holiday in Radstadt special?
An autumn morning in Radstadt: over breakfast, you decide where the day might take you. As a Stegerbräu guest, you can pack your own lunch from the breakfast buffet – and then simply head out. No packed holiday schedule, just fresh mountain air, often excellent visibility and noticeably more peace and quiet on hiking and cycling trails and at popular attractions.
In September, many days still feel like late summer in the mountains. By October, things become quieter and nature slowly changes colour. And although some mountain huts and summer lifts gradually close for the season, there is still plenty to see and do.
And there is an extra bonus for spontaneous travellers: for stays between 1 September and 31 October 2026, our Autumn Special gives you 10% off your Stegerbräu stay including breakfast. The offer is valid from just two nights for direct bookings made from 26 August onwards.

September: Harvest Season Meets Late Summer in the mountains
Visit Radstadt in September and you can still enjoy a good taste of summer while the Salzburg Harvest Festival season is already beginning.
During the Bauernhofroas from 7 to 18 September, farms and mountain huts throughout the Pongau region invite you to enjoy regional specialities, traditional folk music and relaxed get-togethers.
Find out when and where the different farm festivals take place as part of the Bauernhofroas here:
In between? Lace up your hiking boots, hop on your bike or play a round of golf!
Our local mountain Rossbrand can be reached comfortably by the Radstadt hiking bus every Tuesday and Thursday until 8 October. From the drop-off point, it is only around a 20-minute walk to the summit at 1,768 metres – and to panoramic views that seem to stretch even further on clear autumn days.
The Sportwelt bus also takes you to many other starting points for hikes – for example the Gnadenalm, Jägersee in Kleinarl with the option to continue on to Tappenkarsee, or the hiking areas around Zauchensee and Flachau.
Cycling fans will find a great choice of bike and mountain bike routes around Radstadt – from relaxed tours along the Enns and e-bike rides to mountain huts to the challenging Stoneman Taurista. Autumn is also an ideal time for golfers: pleasant temperatures, a quieter pace on the course and discounted green fees at Golfclub Radstadt for Stegerbräu guests.
Head back up the mountain with your Guest Card
Not all mountain lifts close when August comes to an end. Some remain open on selected days in September and, in some cases, well into October.

Especially worthwhile for guests staying in Radstadt:
- Shuttleberg Kleinarl: from a stay of 2 nights, your guest card includes a free day lift pass.
- 12 Peaks Adventure Card: from a stay of 3 nights, Radstadt guests receive around 50% off when buying online. This flexible ticket combines participating mountain lifts and mountain experiences throughout the region.
In 2026, the Shuttleberg operates on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and October – up to and including 1 November. Other summer lifts have different operating days, so it is best to check the current lift schedule before heading out.
And if there is no mountain hut open along the way? Simply find your own favourite picnic spot and enjoy a little snack with a view. From a stay of 2 nights, a packed lunch that you can prepare yourself is included in your Stegerbräu stay.
Fancy a day without hiking, cycling or golf?
With the Guest Mobility Ticket, you can easily change your plans and enjoy a different kind of day out. Travel by bus and train to the city of Salzburg, head towards the Liechtensteinklamm Gorge or visit the Eisriesenwelt ice cave in Werfen – the latter is even open until early November in 2026.
And when the temperatures outside start to drop a little? Then a relaxing session in the sauna, steam bath or infrared cabin at Stegerbräu feels especially good.
In the evening, it is time to slow down and enjoy the cosy side of your holiday: take a seat in the restaurant, enjoy a good meal and a drink, and start making plans for the next day. If you are still looking for inspiration, simply browse through our carefully prepared Holiday Guide folder or take a look at the wide selection of brochures available.
